Modern Hard Chrome Service Company provides hard, wear resistant coatings to the automotive and steel industries. The automotive industry needs wear resistance in the drive trains, differentials, engines, motor mounts, steering assemblies and other moving components. Closely related is the plastic industry that requires wear resistance on the steel tools that make the plastic parts. Approximately 35% of revenues are derived from the automotive industry.

The steel industry uses rollers to shape, flatten, and emboss a texture on the sheet steel before it is sent to the end user. Modern Hard Chrome grinds the roller to provide a fresh surface, textures the roller using electro-discharge texturing, and coats the roller with hard chrome to protect the texture.

In Michigan, approximately 58% of revenues are derived from the steel industry. Automotive revenues are about 30% and the remainder is miscellaneous industries.

Modern Hard Chrome of Illinois revenue is 80% derived from the steel industry (ISG) and 10% from Alcoa Aluminum and 10% from AK Steel
